We have one Imac with that will not powerup at all,
the front sometimes flashs when you press it.

We really need stuff off the hard drive of that mac.

Is it possible to swap the hard drive with another
imac?

I can do it with PCs no problem.
But will it work as easy with Imacs.

Thanks for your help

If the imacs are of the same vintage it should work with no problem, if you're running the latest version of the OS. The only problem I can think you might have would be if the imacs are from different years, an older OS might not have the system enablers required to boot. It's definately worth the effort though. If you have any relatively recent powermacs, from blue&white upward you could just add the drive as a secondary internal drive set to slave, which would save you from having to worry about booting from it. (It's also much simpler than cracking open two iMacs ;)

if you et the drive in a second mac and DO have trouble, remember that you can boot from CD. I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
