Swapping autochangers, keeping same server

Hi All,

I have Networker 5.5.1 on AIX & need to switch from a StorageTek 9740 to a Exabyte 230D. Do I have to remove my current StorageTek to install & test the 230D? Is there anything I can do to make switch back easier?

Hello,

You can ask your Networker furnisher to get a second enabler code 1-32. You will then be able to connect both libraries to the same server and you have 30 days to do the migration.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know about the 2 autochangers & apparently either did our contracted support. That would have been useful.

I ended up jumping to the new changer & everything went well, to an extent.
