hello everyone,

I have a Mitel 3300. i have two exts ringing in the wrong place....ex. 1234 ringing on 5678 and 5678 ringing on 1234. I administer this system remotely. is there a way to swap exts remotely?

thanks in advance

Probably yes but swapping may not be the solution and you may just be digging yourself deeper.

In fact, I suspect this issue may have been created by a swap of some sort.

Please give us the call flow for 1234 for how it rings 5678

e.g.
1234 is DID on system
1234 is a defined in the system as a speedcall
1234 speed call actually dials 4321 on the system
4321 is a ringing key appearance on ext 5678

3587 is a DID number (no speed dial) this ext has a mailbox so when i call it rings a few times and than it goes to voicemail

3560 is another DID (no speed dial) this ext does not have a mailbox but when you call 3587. messages are left on 3560. thats why i think the exts are not on the right place... also this ext has a DSS/Busy lamp for ext 3587.... i think if I swap this exts. they would ring at the right place....

Definitely not going to be fixed by swapping.

Confirm that 3587 rings when 3587 is called.
[ul]
[li]Also check to see if 3560 rings when 3587 is called (scenario below)[/li]
[/ul]Confirm that 3560 rings when 3560 is called

Check voicemail 3587 and confirm that extension 3587 is programmed as the associated station
Verify that mailbox 3560 does not exist

Here is what I believe to be the most likely scenario

3587 is terminated to a hunt group
in the hunt group is a member that appears as a key on both 3560 and 3587
There is a voicemail associated with hunt group 3587

When hunt groups and key lines are used in this fashion, lamps are typically lit against the lower number set (one that is programmed first)

ok, 3587 rings on ext 3560 not 3587
3560 rings on 3587 not on 3560
3560 has no mailbox, this ext has a button lavel VM trans to 39940
39940 is a system speed dial( i went into system speed dial )
39940 is the speed call number..... but the actual number is 3955p**#(dont know what this is)
there are no hunt groups with 3560 or 3587 as members.

any ideas?

hmmmm

Ok, see if there are any features active on the phones

Maintenance command = Locate feature extension 3560
repeat for 3587

Also check the call rerouting table, is there anything strange in the routing for those 2 phones.

Also, just for grins and giggles, tell me what the system says when you use Maintenance Command = Locate Number 3587
Repeat for 3560
