I have 128Mb ram and a 512Mb swap file. I'm looking at the swap file "used" figure and it is growing about 3% a day Currently 65% used, 35% unused.

Do I need more ram?

What happens if the used figure reaches 100%

Is it a good move to reboot the server?

The website has about 15Mb / 350 HTML pages, and about 50 flat text databases of between .5Mb and 10Mb in size.

Cheers.

Take a look at the processes you have running... it sounds like there's a memory leak.

Had a memory leak on a web server once. Restarted the web server to bring memory usage back down to base level to give me time to work out the implications. In the end, just cron'd a restart of the server at low usage time, until the next version server came out with the problem fixed in it.

OK, it was a low use intranet web server, definitely not mission critical. But it's an option (if it's the web server leaking).

Ok, guys, someone told me to do a 'top' and an M, this is the result I get:

What's happenin'?

Yup, that web server is a wee bit out of control. HUP it for now, and check to see if there's a newer version out.

If it's apache, they're at 1.3.20 as of a few days ago.
