I want to swap 2 extensions: 123(analog) with 456(digital), so that 123 has the digital line and phone and 456 has the analog line and phone. I can swap physical phone positions by moving wires at the tn, but don't know how to associate the extensions with the tn's

REQ: CHG
TYPE: 500
TN XX XX XX XX

ITEM DN 456 <--(After you enter this line, you may see the next few lines below)
MIX HNT FNA
MARP ON TN XX XX XX XX
MARP YES <--(Say YES here since this will now be the primary place the DN rings)

REQ: CHG

TN XX XX XX XX

ITEM KEY 0 SCR 123

This may sound redudant but make sure you are using a digital Line card. For your switch will not let you build a 2000 series phone set on a analog line card. If you are new it is easy to make that mistake. Hope that helped.

This is similar to what I wish to do.

I am REALLY new at this stuff so please, if you can, be very specific in answering.

I need to swap two extensions at two different seats. Two of my users are exchanging desks. Both phones are model m2216. Starting with the LD ## command, what do I need to do?

You have three choices.
1 You can move the cross connects.
2 You can change key's 0 and 1 on each of the existing TN's.
3 You can do a round robin move with a third TN.
