I have a Swannswart modem and as soon as the dial-up screen logs that it is verifying user name and password it disconnects. The user name and password are correct and work on other comps. and there are no device conflicts.
I'm stumped pls try and help. I'm running win 98 and i'm out of ideas.

are you useing dail-up networking? is it giving you are DUN error #? from what you have said it could be caused by a number of things including: wrong username and pass or multiple login (meaning the same userID is already logged in), network settings could be wrong, line noise. make sure you have only "tcp/ip" and "enable software compression" selected in network settings.

obviously, there's alot to look at.
