Quick tip... uninstalling the HP PSC 2510 printer eliminated the following problem:

"The instruction at "0x00ab96bc" referenced memory at "0x0000000". The memory could not be "written".

The HP PSC 2510 printer software was the last application loaded on the HP Pavilion zd8000 notebook and therefore was easy to identify. Operating system: Windows XP Pro.
