This morning the following error occured:
Application popup: svchost.exe - Application Error: The instruction at "0x77fcb317" reference memory at "0x7c54144c". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on Cancel to debug the program
So I cancelled it. Then Windows wouldnt load the main explorer screen. All I saw was the blue blank desktop screen without a taskbar or anyn icons. So I restarted the machine.
When I restarted, the system would reach the CTRL-ALT-DEL login screen and about 10-15 seconds after that it automatically restarted. So I started my computer using Last Known Good Configuration and it started fine.
The svchost.exe error has happened a couple of times before but today was the first time the computer automatically restarted after this error.
Please help me find out the source of this problem. The machine in concern is running Windows 2000 Server and is the Exchange Server for the company. So the bosses hate it when email goes down.
Thank you for all your responses.
