SV9300 IP Phone Licenses

Hello,

Our hotel has a SV9300. I ran a report and my question is I am wondering how many more IP phones can I add to the system before I need to purchase more licensing... If I am reading this correctly is it telling me we have only room for only 29 more IP phones?

What happens if I add more beyond that point, will it still work? and where is a good place online to buy additional licensing. I just need regular seats nothing fancy...

The problem is on the property we have underground analog cables coming from the NEC (LC 8+8) as analog extensions to the rooms but found that the cans in the ground have been sitting in water for a long period of time and thus we all know what happens to copper once the elements hit it.... So we are trying to find a solution using the data side since we have fiber taps in each building with plenty of spares to provide data to each building. However my question is since the riser room for each building has punch downs (66 blocks) feeding each room (20 rooms per building approx) is there a solution to go from fiber from the switch to the riser and branch off with other equipment bypassing the underground cabling using the copper still or should I just go VoIP in each riser, install a switch and use the existing cat6 feeding the rooms (I have 2 cat6 lines per room already installed and ran into each riser room labeled and ready to go. The problem is that there are laws stating that each room has to have a working phone in order to be sold and we have over 60 down rooms because of the cabling underground is starting to crap out.

Ok so I won't try to work out your licensing as it's been a while since I played with a 9300. However, how you deal with the phones in each building is the main issue as licenses can always be bought. The question is, do you want to also have to replace all the handsets in the rooms. If the copper phone cabling in the buildings is OK, it may be better to retain the existing analogue handsets and use something like a Grandstream gateway to convert the VoIP back to analogue in each building. Note. You do not have to use the RJ sockets on the front of the unit as they are duplicated on an Amp Champ 50 pin connector at the rear which is great for tailing out to your punch down blocks.

Would that solution work for the NEC system? I have seen that hardware before and thought that it only worked with a few software pbx systems like 3cx etc.

Do you know of where I can purchase licenses for the nec system from and how much they cost roughly and with the information I provided above can you tell me how much room i have to add ip phones on the system?

The Grandstream Gateways are effectively multiple standard sip phones as far as the NEC is concerned. I will leave it to others to work out the licensing as I seldom work on these these days. You will probably have to get a dealer involved to purchase any licenses and they also should be able to advise you of options.
