Hello,

A few people in our organization answer a few different AA transfers and they are asking if each line could have a different ring. Each of their phones VE 301 for Sales, 302 for Spanish and 301 on timeout. I would like the ring tone for 301 to be different than 302. I tried making changes in 15-08 and 22-03. Neither seemed to have any impact. I was able to change the ringtone at the phone but it is for external or internal only, not a specific VE. Any suggestions/assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

In MB 15-08, did you set it for the virtual extension? Also, all of the options do not work. Some leave it with no ring tone at all. I used option 2 for a virtual and got results.

Hello,

So VE303 is set to Tone Pattern 2. When I change it to 1, 3 or 4. Same ring. If I change it to 5-8, no ring at all. Does the phone need to reboot to adjust ringtones or is another setting at the extension level taking precedence over the VE's settings?

Thanks for taking the time to assist!

The change should be immediate after the upload. However, I would upload then disconnect from the system and test. Then try resetting the phone. Unplug it then plug it back in.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. I tried resetting the phone. No luck. I am assuming the change is instant though because when I select Tone Pattern 5-8, the VE doesn't ring at all. What I'm confused by is when you say upload, what do you mean? I was trying to change the ring tone to one of the other system provided options. I have not uploaded any ring tones. Program 22-03 wouldn't relate to this would it?

Thanks again,

Franl

22-03 is for individual trunk ring tone. 15-08 should be for virtual ring tones. You may need to try a system reset.

Hi Belevedere,

I figured it out. MB 20-15-08 first needed to be adjusted. It was on Cycle 8 which cut the ring tone off too early. You couldn't hear the difference in the ring tones in MB 15-08. I tested this by changing it from Cycle 8 to Cycle 2 and then I could hear a difference in the tones. Thanks again for your assistance.

Hi Belevedere,

Just wanted to provide another update to this. Even after the changes I commented on last, all the phones in our company had different ring tones for VE's except mine. After working with NEC we determined that in MB15-02-02, if this is set to anything other than Low/Medium/High, all other ring tone changes will be superseded (ignored). My extension was set to Melody 2. When I changed it back to Medium, the VE ringtones were now different. Hope this helps anyone who runs into this same issue.

Thanks again!

Possibly. We are running 9.0 currently. Not sure if they will address this in a future release. Thanks!!!
