Some of you will probably notice that I have already mentioned these issues but that's a long way down quite a lengthy thread regarding different issues where nobody will see it, so I am starting a new thread just for the licensing issues I'm having, I hope you don't mind.

SV9100 CP10 - it's been installed for years and running with ISDN trunks but we have now installed a VOIP card and SIP trunk licenses as well as resource licenses. It doesn't work, incoming calls hit the system but get busy tone. We think there may be a system port license issue because the system keeps deleting the SIP trunks I set up, but we are not sure.

The initial 60 day demo license was all used up years ago so I generated another one from the LMS (you can generate 2 for each system) but when I tried to upload the new license file via Feature Activation it failed.

I then tried the 10 day license which is only available to do via handset programming, but the option just isn't there. We go into handset programming and can see 90-36 and 90-38 but 90-37 is definitely not there.

Has NEC removed the 90-37 license option in recent versions of the firmware? Or is there some other trick to activate it maybe? Why might my newly generate 60 day license not be being accepted by the system?

Many thanks,

Dave

The 10 day license is visible only with the MFR log on ID.
You may have to work with NTAC through a dealer to get this resolved.

Thanks belevedere

I'm interested in how logging into programming through the phones works. I already have the MF credentials but what interests me is how the system knows who you are when you log in. Is it based solely on what password you enter? Because you could possibly have 2 user accounts set up on your NEC that are different levels, say one is installer and another is something else, but which both have the same password set. When logging into PCPro you tell it the username and the password so it knows who you are but when logging into a phone it only asks for a password, I can't give it my username. Unless of course you need to use something other that # * # *, maybe? Otherwise how does it know which user level is logging in?

Thanks

Program step removed with the later version of firmware. 60 day licence starts the moment it's activated, regardless of whether it's turned off during that grace period

Thanks daddybadger. Thanks for confirming about the programming step being removed, I thought that was likely the case.

There is the facility to create up to 2 additional 60 day demo licenses for each SV9100 system via the LMS. I created a new one against the correct site and location, activated it, downloaded the license file, tried to apply it via Feature Activation, and the system failed to accept it. I don't know why, it didn't say unfortunately.

I know on the 8100 you can login to the handset, go to 90-37-01, set the timer for 9, get out of handset programming, reboot the system, and this will give you another 9 days demo licence. Rinse repeat as long as you require. This program code appears to still be in the 9100, but I haven't ever tried it out.
