I'm very new to working with the SV8300 or really any phone system. I've been working on getting our phone stuff for IT working a little better. There are currently 3 of us now and 4 lines. It used to be that there was one phone we all shared with one extension, 2227. Now we have 3 phones, one down the hall in my bosses new office, 2627, the original 2227 assigned to a phone here in the IT office, and a second phone with 2527 assigned to it. There's also a 4th virtual extension, 2727 assigned as the second line on the 2227 phone.
So, physical phone A has 2227 as the main number, then 2727 as the second line, along with the other two extensions in the third and forth keys.
Physical phone B has 2527 as the main number, with 2227 as the second line and again the other two extensions in the third and forth keys.
Physical phone C has 2627 as the main number, with the other 3 extensions filling in the other keys.
My ultimate desire is to get 2227 as the secondary line on phone A and B. Also having the message light come on for both phones when a message is left on 2227 and having the message button on both phones go to the 2227 voice mail (they won't have individual voice mail).
My problem/annoyance is when people call in, they dial 2227. Phone A rings and the caller ID shows up fine. Phone B also rings, and the line 2 blinks, but no caller ID. I have figured out how to turn the directory key into a caller ID key and when I press it it'll show who is calling, which beats getting up and looking at the other phone, but I have to press it twice and then pick up the phone and hit the line to answer. I don't mind having to hit the line, but the pressing the "caller id button" twice is annoying. I'm wanting it to just show the caller id automatically when someone dials 2227 on both phones :/
My main focus right now is the caller ID thing, the rest of it is reliant on figuring that out
Oh, and all phones in play are NEC Dterm Seriesi DTR-16D-2TEL if that matters any.
