Hello,
Typically I deal with SV8100/9100 but as a courtesy for our customer we have taken over support for their SV8300. This is a completely different beast and requires a lot more manual reading to get familiar with the new system.
We have switched their cordless phone system from NEC IP-DECT to a new cheaper more robust Ascom IP-DECT system. While the former appear in the phone system as IP Stations, the new Ascom are just vanilla SIP extensions. We have them working, and they can call, accept calls, get caller-id, but transferring seems to be a bit of an issue. The Ascom system has 2 ways to initiate special features like transfer with the 'R' or hook flash key, this can be set to be sent directly to the PBX or handled internally inside the IP-DECT system. When set to go direct, there is no response from the phone system, so we use the IP-DECT managed 'R' key. The procedure goes as follows, user while in a call presses the 'R' button, they are presented with a new dial tone, user enters transfer target, after a few seconds they get a reorder tone and a '488 Not Acceptable Here' message is sent to the handset, the phone hangs itself up and the call is successfully transferred.
This method while working just fine is at best clunky, and is not too terribly friendly for the customer to use. I am wondering if anybody else has had better success with getting calls to transfer using standard SIP or anything else similar to what I am dealing with, perhaps even attended transferring.
Thanks for your help
