Hi,

I have inherited an SV8100 and associated DT700 phones. I am a complete beginner when it comes to PBX's so I have some issues.1

1. A user has a voicemail setup, I want to remove this but don't know the password to their mailbox. I also have no idea if there is a management phone or if one ever existed! Is there some method of finding this on the SV8100? Or can I set up a management phone on it somehow? I know how to configure a basic extension.

2. The bridge where clients dial in has some options, 1 for support, 2 for sales etc. I have searched through the SV8100 and cannot find where this is set, I can find department groups and all but nothing related to this. Say I wanted to re-record the options or add some new ones, where do I do it?

Thanks in advance, I am a complete newbie at PBXs'

Cheers,
M

There are two voice mail options on this system. One is contained on a CF chip plugged into the CPU. The other is a blade plugged into a card slot. They are administered differently, therefore we need to know which one you have. Ususally at default the admin mailbox/phone is the first extension in the system. EX: 100 or 101.
The CF VM is called an inmail. The VM blade is a um 8000. Inmail is administered through a designated phone or through the PCPro program. The um 8000 is done through a internet browser, ie or firefox. In either case you need to know the IP address, log in and password. I suggest contacting your vender for the information.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I had a look at the PBX and I cannot see any additional blades in there.

I have tried the first extension set up, which in our case is EXT 700, doesnt seem to be an Admin phone. I may be doing something wrong, any way to confirm this?

I have Web Access into the SV8100 and know the Admin password so I can get into this console. What can I do from here now regarding voicemail?

Again, I have never even configured a phone before!

Thanks,
M

Log on to the system. Go to MB 47-02-12. This is where you can assign a MB as a system administrator. Once that is done, use the softkeys on the corresponding phone to gain access to the VM and record greetings and change mail box settings.
Log into the VM using a softkey, then follow the softkey or voice instructions.
Changing one key dialing requires using other MB's.
EX: 47-02-13
47-02-14
You really need to get your hands on an inmail manual. It's virtually the same as the Elite-II system. Try for a manual.

Hi there,

Thank you very much for this. This is exactly what I was looking for to quickly change this voicemail.

I will have a look at the NEC manuals also now.

Thanks very much again.
