Sv8100 No Dial Tone!!

Greetings NEC Fans,

I have a SV-8100 that has no dial tone on the operator's telephone when she goes off-hook until she initiates a call. It had dial tone last week. Is there a code to turn-off dial tone?

No such code exists. Have you tried swapping the phone? Possibly a bad hook switch. Or a bad port.

Switched telephones. Same thing. No dial tone.

Do you get CO dial tone when going off hook?
Does the phone have trunk keys or CAP keys?
If you have an unused station port, swap them.
