Ok so we have an Sv8100 that keeps dropping calls anytime it wants any old how. contacted Verizon to have call examples checked they claim they cant see any calls dropping DUH anyways. Is there anywhere on the switch that may have triggered this it just started happening and we haven't made any changes to the switch.

Calls just go to dead air / sometimes beep /then the light on phone goes away

Old software version 2 had trunking issues. Are you updated to the latest software?

Assuming you have copper CO's from the local LEC check your CO loop current. I have several sites that exceeded 40ma loop current that had this problem. Telco says nothing they can do. I ended up inserting 2ea 100 ohm 5 watt resistors in series, 1 on tip and 1 on ring to keep it balanced. Haven't had a problem since. The value of the resistors will vary depending on the site. Use your meter and test to get the current down to 28-36 ma nominal.
Also, extend the disconnect timer and test.
Is it all trunks or just 1?
