We are having an issue when somebody calls in to our main phone line it randomly will just ring and ring and the call never comes in to front desk. We have many numbers you can call and they all get sent to front desk but this issue seems to be just our main line. If you call our other numbers they seem to come in? We have had our telephone provider check the line 2-3 times and they tell us everything is fine and that it has to be our system causing it. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this and a resolution?

Open your SMDR or DIM and see if the call is actually reaching the system. If analog lines make sure to check that you don't have call waiting activated somehow. I take what telephone providers take with a grain of salt as they rarely want to dispatch someone.

Check that the connectors are properly seated in the COT card and I would punch down the CO Port pairs again to make sure we have a solid connection.

You could also take out the COT card to look for Burn marks on the card. Note that you could have a bad port on the card with no visible evidence of the problem.

After that you want to get a real tech onsite to look at the setup.
