I am currently trying to get dial connections to 2400 IPX using SV 8500 PC PRO. I can use the PC PRO for direct connects but cannot get the dial up to work no matter what I try. Anyone have any ideas?????

What version is the PCPro? The newer version 7 on up is no longer compatible with older systems. I was always able to get version 4-6 to work. Are you dialing behind a PBX? Did you put a 9 in your dialing pattern? What, if any, error are you getting? Is your modem recognized and set up for the proper baud rate? Is the IO card port defective? Ports tend to blow out in lightning storms and power hits. Try resetting it.

Not sure which version however in the lower right hand corner it shows (c 2011). I have had it for about 4 years so I tend to believe that it is V 4-6. Yes the 9 is inserted in the dial string. The errors I keep getting are connect/IO time out. There are moments when I get a checksum notice. I have tested the modem in all bauds. I spoke to the contact who owns all the sites and they can get in to them with the WinMat dial up every time. It seems that the IO cards just will not recognize this Program because it happens on all sites.

Some of those older systems did not like com ports other than 1 or 2 on your PC. Try your modem on com1 or 2. What version on windows are you using?
connect/IO time out = it cannot get a handshake in time. Are you using a US robotics modem? They work best on these systems. Is the modem line a direct potts line or are you getting transferred into the modem?

I started to have that same problem when my home phone was switched to UVERSE (IP backbone)
Some of the things that did work was changing from my internal modem on my laptop to an external modem ... just be sure your not using a com port higher than 4.
