I have a customer with an 8100 R8 I believe. They complain of a fax tone answering incoming calls randomly. Lines are standard analog from the cable company. I am not an 8100 expert but curious of that system has a built in modem. I suspect it is an alarm system shared with their main number but can't be sure until my next visit.
Another complaint is incoming call comes in and gets disconnected immediately. Caller calls back and gets the receptionist normally. So I am not sure if that is a bad trunk card.
