I've used the MySQL ODBC 3.51 set up programme to establish n OBDC driver on machines on the WAN.

However one machine, running Win2000 Server has "Terminal Services" installed and running. When I try to create a new data source on this machine I get an error box saying

The setup routines for the MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126

When I close that dialog box I then get a message

Driver's ConfigDSN, ConfigDriver, or ConfigTranslator failed
Could not load the setup or translator library

I'm able to install the ODBC drivers on other Win2000 Server machines so I'm happy that it is not the OpSys causing the problem.

Does anyone else have any experience / workaround ?

RESOLUTION FOUND

For the record ( in case someone else finds this problem later and needs to know the answer ) I've found the resolution to the problem.

Terminal Services needs to be placed on 'Admin Mode' by an administrator before it will allow the ODBC driver to be installed correctly.

It is then put into operational mode and works fine.
