Over the last two days, we have had 5 databases 'grey out' and get labeled as 'suspect'. The MDF files for some are on one physical disk and the others are on another disk. So, I can't assume that we are having hardware problems. All other applications are running fine. One other note, the copy of SQL we are using is a trial license that has been working well beyond the 120-day limit (been going strong for 3 years!). I am just puzzled by the sudden decline. Has anyone dealt with this before?

Take a look at this FAQ to try to recorver your DB ...

J,

I looked through the logs and nothing jumps out as an error. All I see are multiple entries for opening the databases, initializing dlls, etc. I'd like to know why this happens. Thanks,

RS

As a side note, I feel that after 3 years of using the "Trail Software" you should go ahead and spring for a retail copy. Seems the amount of time you have been running SQL Server shows you do need the application. It would also alleviate any issue we may be trying to help you with that are based on this version being out-of-date.

Thanks
