Suse & Logitech Quickcam Express

My friend is a Linux guru (He probably has 20 distro's) but is having problems installing his new webcam. (This shocks me )

He is running Suse 9.0 and just bought a Logitech Quickcam Express. He's searched numerous sites (to include Suse & Logitech) but is still having a hard time finding the appropriate drivers. He says the system sees the cam but won't run it. (???)

Anyone have this problem and get it resolved? If so, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Kernel 2.6?
My pencam worked fine with gphoto and pensnap, until kernel 2.6.
I hadn't much time to investigate in that issue, but it seems, the driver-model is only fitting to 2.4 kernels.
