Hi there,
I'm sort of new to unix. I've used Knoppix a bit and have a second PC that I want to load SuSE on because I'm told that's a good one to start with (I don't want to start a debate on that though). So I downloaded the SuSE ISO from and burned it. Booted up the machine and came to the install screen. Choose Install and it said 'loading kernal.....' then I see a screen with the suse logo, a (what looks to be a) bar at the bottom that's about 10% filled in then the machine reboots. Comes back to the install screen and does it again, and again, and more. Sometimes I don't even see that second screen after it loads the kernal....
I've got a p3 550, 128 megs ram, 8 gig HD that's formatted FAT32. There is no OS at all on the HD, it used to be my second drive in another machine. Freshly formatted, not a system formatted drive (/s).
Any ideas? I've actually had Knoppix do that a few times on this machine I think but I can't remember for sure. I've used knoppix a good dozen times on it though.
