I have a WinXP laptop with 10Gb spare on the HD. I am wanting to try SuSE 9.1 is there a way to run it in some kind of virtual Connetix style environment or will I have to run a dual boot config?

If I have to run dual boot will SuSE install a boot loader and not make my XP partition disappear?

Thanks.

yes, it won't touch XP partition, as long as you don't tell it to do so.

I don't know virtual Connetix style env. Is it booting from cd?
Saving configuration settings, installing additional software etc. makes booting from hd more enjoyable.
It's faster and you have the cd-drive available for other stuff.

A cd-booting system is good for getting a hardware-detection-check, a first impression, a rescue system.

As long as you're not small on hd-capacity, I would do a hd-install.
