Suse 8.2: mouse problem

Hi there,

I have a problem regarding my suse 8.2 system:

When I boot my system with the cd-rom (option "boot installed system") my mouse works fine.

When I boot direct from harddisk my mouse didn't work.

Any idea??

I have another system with the same software installed and although the same mouse, I duplicated the mouse-entry in xf86config, no success...

produce?

What is the entry in xf86config?
what do

/var/log/XFree86.0.log | grep -i mouse 
/var/log/XFree86.0.log | grep config

produce?
