SUS - evaluation failed

I'm having issues deploying SMS SUS patches. The scan program ran without issue and all the patches needed were listed in web reports. The patches package is not running properly.

There is a patchinstall.log in the \admin$\temp dir of the client. At the end of that log I've found:

Trying to call Scan Program
Unable to open registry key for package (SecurityScanTool), Error return (2)
Error in getting the scan program name and command line, Scan will not be called
Unable to get path for scan program, Agent will not evaluate software updates
Zero software updates evaluated to be installed

In the completed job file on the client, the following is listed:

Description = "Software Updates Installation Agent: Software updates evaluation failed, Unable to get scan program path - verify scan tool package and program name in scan.ini is correct"; instance of DateTime {

Any ideas?
 
Did you ever find a solution for this. If so I am very interested. I am having the same issues.There is absolutley no info anywhere to be found.
