SUS advertisement succesful but patch not installed

Hi,

I work with SMS 2003 SP1 (version 2.50.3174.1000)

Whenever I run the distribute software updates wizard to create sus patches for win2k3 servers, everything works fine. A package is made and the advertisment runs great, the status = succesful.

But when I check the servers for the updates, they are not there. In the patchinstall.log of the servers, it says that another install/uninstall is detected, sending failed status.

Rebooting does not help. I reinstalled the sms client, but that doesn't help.

The package/advertisment has worked on a freshly installed server, so that's not the problem. Can anyone share hints/thoughts please?

Gah. I feel stupid. Turns out that the update.exe process had to be ended in task manager, after that, everything was fine.

Strange how a reboot did not fix that though.
