Hello all,
i try to upgrade a 11C (CSE1000M) Rel. 4.5 from Fibre connection between the Cabinets to Survivability with 100BaseT connection. From another thread i understand that i have to connect the IP-Daughterboards from SSC of the Main Cabinet direct to the Daughterboards on the SSC`s in my Expansion Cabinets using the delivered cables and i also have to connect each of the Cabinets into E-Lan.

Is that correct???

Does anyone have a Upgrade NTP for that kind of upgrade. I can`t find any proper and complete documentation which shows me the cabling and the changes i have to make for this.

Is it possible to use a mixed configuration during the upgrade (SSc with one Fibre DB and one IP DB)?? I would like to leave first daughterboard for cabinets 1 and 3 running on fibre connection and bring in a new expansion cabinet 2 using the IP-daughterboard. If that works i will change the first daughterboard also to IP.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you and best regards,
Mike

Put your PCMCIA software in main SSC card and up that one first.
Then, put your PCMCIA software (Same PCMCIA) in Surv. SSC card and upgrade it. It should talk to the main SSC when done and everything coming back up.
I done a couples of upgrade trying to upgrade from the main SSC pushing software to Surv. but did not works so, i just do it on site.

You can change the daughterboards in the main cabinet 1 at a time as you asked.

You do not need to use the supplied cables to connect the daughterboards in the main cabinet SSC to the survivable cabinet SSC's. You can connect them via switches (I use Cisco gear to connect mine).

You need to set up the IP addresses for each survivable cabinet in LD 117 using the CHG IPM and CHG IPR commands.

I have a V-LAN dedicated to survivability, and assign IP addresses to the IP daughtercards in the IP space for that V-LAN.
