I am developing a simple report to run on CR ver 9. I want to display a logo image based on whatever the content of an image .bmp file is at the time the report is opened and run. I tried using an OLE Object, browsed to the .bmp file created with Paint, selected Linked, and put the field on the report canvas.

I understand refresh does not re-capture the current content of the image file, so when I saved and re-opened the report, it shows only the file name and a thumbnail as an icon that can be clicked to open the application to edit the image file. This is not what I want.

I cant use a VB application to load the logo on this one and I really have no need to edit the original server stored image file from within CR.

Does anyone know if OLE Objects can be used to simply display the current content of the linked .bmp file, as if you had inserted a static picture?

If so, how? Also, why doesnt the Crystal Reports documentation explain better what this "package object" is and how you use it? Any help would sure be appreciated, this has been a frustrating one.
