Hi.
I would to know how I can to limit the surfing on a XP that is not part on AD. The situation is: when my customers bring their laptops and plug into my network the XP can show all computers as well as the W2000 server, and can see all forders and files (of course when want to open Windows ask for a password due the resource is shared with password).
I wanna know if there is a way that XP can't see the domain when surfing with windows explorer. How can i protect my server for this situation?

All reply are welcome..

its a security feature.... I'm not aware of any way to bypass it...

the idea is you have to be a trusted computer to become a member of the domain... so if you arent allowed...

I think the only way you could peek would be a memeber of another domain that was trusted.

First, don't let your customers plug into your network.

Second, if you do allow it, be aware of the risk you're presenting to your network (virus, etc).

Third, if you still insist on doing this, plug them into a different subnet on your network so they won't see your servers.

I'm Certifiable, not certified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.
