Just got a 2nd hand HP surestore 6000 DAT drive and tried to install it in my NT server. NT discovered it OK, drivers installed OK etc but each time I tried to backup to DAT I got "invalid media" and "bad tape" showing in NT backup's window. 'Course there is a good chance the heads are duff and it was a bad buy but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has had any similar experiences.
The drive FFwd/Rewound the tape a couple of times before refusing to back anything up. I wondered if this model needs a particular tape (I was trying 60/90m tapes) also there are a few dip switches which could be set up wrong (any advice on what these are for appreciated also)
