Surely there must be an easier way to remove notes?

We are running version 8 here at my office.

There have now been 3 occasions over the past 6 weeks or so where notes simply will not start. Using the repair or modify features from the CD don't work, and trying to uninstall gives an error.

Clearing the notes.ini file has not helped either.

This has left me with the less than desirable task of having to search the registry for "notes" and then delete all the appropriate keys/values.

Any help appreciated. How I miss outlook.

What is the error that it gives on uninstall, might be a clue to what is the issue. When you "clear" the notes.ini file are you leaving any of it? Is there a particular behavior that is happening just before Notes fails to open?

I'm not real familiar with Notes 8, but have found notes 4 - 7 to be decent, at least comparable to MS Outlook

Which version are you running - 8.0 or 8.0.1? 8.0.1 has a lot of bug fixes over 8.0.

When you say it doesn't start, do you get any messages or warnings at all?

And as Bandenjamin notes, when you clear the ini file, are you leaving the first three lines intact? That will reconfigure the client when it's restarted.
