Everybody,
I'm in the process of bring a new Win2k/MF XP server online that is going to replace our old MF server, but I'm having problems getting the printers working.
1. When logging in the printer does get auto created with no problems.
2. It will print if I go to a CMD prompt and push something to the printer (like a dir > lpt1).
3. Trying to print from anything windows (notepad, an application, even a printer test page) gives me an error pop-up that says "There was an error found when printing the document "Untitled - Notepad" to CLIENT\GURU#\\\HERCULES\LEXMARK OPTRA L SERIES.
Do you want to retry or cancel the job?"
4. I will also get event 45 "Document failed to print due to GDI/Driver error in rendering." as well, I tried a few of the work arounds suggested on a few sites.
5. Printing works fine if I go in through a regular terminal server session.
I'm also having a problem with auto-created printers not deleting after the user logs off. But I'm a little less concerned about that one than not being able to print at all.
As you can see I'm stuck with the Lexmark printer for doing these tests, at least until next week sometime, so I'm not even sure if this is what is causing the problem or not. However it is using the regular Win2k driver that came on the CD on both sides.
