I am using crystal 8.5 accessing a heat database. I have 2 groups. Group 1 is by CustID. Group 2 is by ModDate. A few of the customers have 2 records that have different ModDates. Is what I need to do is display the records for only the most recent ModDate for each customer. Every time I try I get syntax errors or the data is not displaying properly. Any idea on how I can accomplish this?

Is there a reason why you need to grop on mod date?

I think all you really need is the group on CustID.
You could then sort by ModDate descending, Suppress the detail section, and display the releveant database fields in the CustID group header.

If you want to remove the the older rows, just group by the CustID, then use Report->Edit Selection Formula->Group and place something like:

{table.date} = maximum({table.date}, {table.custid})

If you simply suppress them so that only the maximums display, they will still be counted in any summaries.
