hi
i am trying to suppress the details section if the sum of a formula = either 1000 or 500 or 2200

example of report
gh1 1000 (sum of (A)

part A
details a 500
b 300
c 200
gh1 2200

details a 500
b 700
c 500

gh1 1008

details a 508
b 300
c 200

i have tried >format section >details >suppress if Sum ({@a})=1000 but no luck please help!

>format section >details >suppress

You should find the sum value in the list of fields inside the formula editor. The sum formula for that group should be there looking something like this when you drop it in the editing window:
Sum ({@a}, group1) //group1 being the name of your group.

Drop that down and type
Sum ({@a}, group1) in [1000,500,2200]

Sorry...I don't see how this math works...

Hi, deebaglee...

I think you want to use conditional formatting for this.

In the details section, right-click on the details section and select Format Section. Click Suppress (No-Drill Down) button to the right and the Format Formula Editor pops up.

Select the original formula and write a suppression formula that says something like:

@a IN ["500", "1000", "2200"]

That will suppress any records that have a total of 500 , 1000 or 2200.

Hope this helps.

When you are conditionaly suppressing, Crystal is basically asking "You want me to surpress if what happens..."
You fill in the what. In this case, if the sum of {@a} is equal to 1000, 500, or 2200.
By typing the above statement in the specific section, you're giving crystal a list of values that when found, that specific section to be suppressed.
