Supress Color Formatting "@ Print Time"???

I have a simple report (in CR 10) which highlights the details section in red, yellow or green based on some criteria.

When the report is viewed or printed on a color printer it works great. But I have some users without color printers. Is there a way I can supress the color formatting "at print time"

What I'd like to do is ask the user (with a parameter) if they have a color printer. Then if they answer NO (1) I would like to display the color formatting in the viewer but supress it when printed.

I have the formula/parameter for the color printer part. But am not sure how to supress it "at print time".

Is this possible?

Createa parameter field with default values of 'COLOR' and 'B&W'. Then conditionally set your background colors based on this parameter field.

I have done that already. But that supresses it even when the user is just VIEWING it.

What I really want to do is allow the user to VIEW the report in COLOR but strip/remove the color when the user PRINTS the report.

(the red and green highlighting prints out black)

How about creating an on-demand subreport which is labeled "Print This" where you insert the same report only formatted in Black and White? They click on "Print This" (or the label could be "Printer Friendly Version"), the black and white version opens up, and then perhaps you could have a text box instructing them to click on the print icon.
