Suppressing subreport output in preview of main report

In a CR 9 report, I have several subreports in the Main Report footer subsections. Can I somehow suppress the output of these subreports in the Main Report Preview (where drilldown on any one subreport is not available)?

The user wishes to run them all at once, i.e. in a "batch job", but be able to later select the subreport they wish to view and drilldown to its detail.

Any thoughts out there. Thanks.

Would formatting them as on-demand subreports meet your user's needs? Go to format subreport->subreport->check on-demand subreport.

Thks for your reply. Formatting them as on-demand subreports removes the ability to run 3-7 of the 5min reports in sort of a batch mode. As is, when the run is done, the Main report preview is quite long and is not condusive to finding each individual subreport to enable any drilldown review and printing.

I just was wondering if there was a way to skip the Main Report Preview and go directly to creating the subreport tabs and their individual previews. Either that, or if they were formatted as on-demand, is there a way to automatically trigger the on-demand run for all those subreports the user selects at the beginning of the run?

Also, I am still very curious about my earlier posts on variables that have the correct value at DrillDownLevel = 0, yet go to zero after the first page of detail in drill down levels > 0. Business Objects has a couple of KB articles on this in earlier versions of CR. Perhaps it is still a problem in CR ver 9.2? See c2010542.

It seems to be saying Global or Shared declared variables assigned value outside the drill down sections, cannot be passed into the drilldown.... & variables set inside the drill down sections cannot be passed out to say a group footer following the detail drilldown sections.

My experience with this, is that I can print the manual sum variable being set in the drilldown detail sections and it has the correct value, but only on the 1st page of drill down records. It turns to zero with the first drill down record printed on the 2nd page of the drill down output and remains zero through the subsequent group footer where I was printing the total at the end of the drill down showing totals for the drill down.

See my previous posts in August, Sept 04 and most recently on 11/29/04. I think I may be fighting an unresolved bug on this one in CT 9.2.
