I've got a report that shows a group header and some summary information in the group footer. When you click on GH1a then GH1b opens (it has drilldowngrouplevel set to zero). GH1b has two subreports and the headers for my details section. The Details section is next which has 'Hide(drill-down OK)' set. Then I have GF1 with my summary info.
GH1a
GH1b
D
GF1

The problem is I need a value from the subreport to do the summary information and that variable only gets set if I turn off the Hide (drill-down OK) on the details section. I really want the report to build itself and then if the user is in a browser (not a pdf or excel export) go ahead and hide GH1b and the Details section.

Thank you!!

Maybe you can use some of the logic in thread767-1627415.

Maybe I'm not doing my report correctly then. I am hiding my details section which seems to mean that the subreports in my details section don't process until the section is drilled into?

Is there a way I can suppress the details section with the subreports and then provide the drill-down type function programatically within the report to display them when a user clicks something? It seems like this should be the default behavior when when you hide a section.

I haven't been able to print the report in my test environment and now I'm thinking the way it is when you do print it the details section will be hidden. Is that correct?

Thank you for your help

One option is to have the subreport included twice. Once in details A to provide the totals. This one would follow the steps above to always run but be invisible. Then a second subreport could be hidden with details B section so that it only appears on drill-down.
