I've created physician telephone directory which is grouped by State(GHeader#1), County(Gheader#2), Physician Specialty(Gheader#3a), again on Physician Specialty (Gheader#3b), then on Physician Name (Gheader#4). I'd like header #3a to only show once per group, Example:

GH1:(State) - New york
GH2:(County)- Nassau
GH3a:(Specialty) - Nassau - SPECIALISTS
GH3b:(specialty)- Pediatrics
GH4a: (Dr.Name)- Dr. Crystal Reports

Any help would be appreciated.

From the design window right click on the group header and select format group. The to the right of the supress checkbox is a button labeled "X-2" for conditional suppression. Click on this button and enter a boolean formula which will supress whan you want it to. Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

ok...so you want section Group 3b but not section Group 3a.

go to the section expert...and in the conditional suppress for Section Group 3a put this formula

WhilePrintingRecords;
inRepeatedGroupHeader;

this should suppress it after the first instance Jim Broadbent

Thanks for the help, but for some reason I was unsuccessful. Header #3a continues to show up with every new specialty in Header #3b. Any other suggestions?

well if that didn't work then place this formula:

WhilePrintingRecords;
inRepeatedGroupHeader;

in the conditional suppress of the field(s) within the Group 3a section.....then in the section expert for Group 3a enable the "Suppress Blank Section" option Jim Broadbent
