Suppress printout 1

I've switched from Quark to InDesign and love. However Xpress had one neat feature under the modify menu that allowed you to suppres printout of either a picture or type.

I found this very useful and have not been able to find out if it is possible in InDesign. Interestingly if you convert an Xpress file with pictures and/or type suppressed for printout, InDesign keeps it that way!

If anyone out there knows how I will be eternally grateful

Vespasia, go to Window > Attributes. On the Attributes palette that has a 'Nonprinting' checkbox. That's how you suppress printing for individual objects in ID.
