Could anyone suggest how to implement the following criteria within Crystal. I'm going to add a field to the report which shows whether or not the sales order is on hold. If the flag is set to YES, I want Crystal Reports to do either of the following: 1) prevent the report from Printing at all, or 2) it prints out with a comment that this Order is ONHOLD.

I would appreciate obtaining suggestions on doing both options. Thank you.

create a formula like:
if {table.on_hold} = 'Yes'
then 'On Hold'
else ' '

Put that on you page header or group header in a large font.

You can go into the Suppress Formula for each section and put the formula:
{table.on_hold} = 'Yes'
