I'd like to put notes on my Crystal Report as notations to myself, but I don't want the text to appear when I display or print the report. I've found a few closed threads on this subject, but no one had a good answer. Well, I just discovered one!

I created a text box with the note. Then I suppressed the text (Format Text, then select the Suppress formula box) with the following formula:
Whileprintingrecords; 1=1

It does EXACTLY what I wanted. If I run or Print the report, the text box doesn't show. It ONLY shows while on the design form.

Of course, this technique can be used to suppress any field or section of the report as well! Bear in mind, however, that it will also be hidden on Preview. So if you're looking to view the data when displaying or previewing, this method is not for you!

Another way you can do this is by inserting a text box in the report header and typing into it. Then suppress the report header section. If you need to display something in the report header, insert a second report header section. You don’t need a formula for suppression.
