How can I suppress an entire group (Group Header, two Detail sections, two group footer sections) based on calculations determined by a running total found in Group footer. For instance, I am reading records that may contain jobs that contain gross pieces of 0. I am tallying the gross pieces but if they total 0, then I don't need to see the details or print the heading or footer.

Use Group selection.

Report menu, Edit Selection Formulas, Group.
Insert the following logic, keeping in mind that you need to substitute your fields:

Sum({table.gross_pieces},{table.group_field}) > 0

Save and Close and Test

If this is the same data as in your other thread, where you are using running totals to avoid counting jobs = 0 and to count only one instance of a job, then I think you can use Brian's logic or you can use a formula like the following in the section expert->each of group header, details, and group footer->suppress->x+2:

sum({table.gross_pieces},{table.group_field}) = 0
