Hello,
I know this has been talked about but I'm still stuck. I'm using Crystal X1. I have a basic report but when I add the field {shipdate} to the report it causes the records to duplicate. I tried some of the mentioned option like chking off the duplicate record box and a few other things, but they didn't work. Is there anyone that can help me with this? Thanks!

Tony

If you have duplicate records, then group them by whatever it is that is being duplicated - it can be a name or a formula field, provided the formula field only uses data from a single detail line.
Show the record details in the group header or group footer. Suppress the detail lines.

I'm not sure if I understand that? If I suppress the detail line won't I loose the other data I have in there?

You can put detail-line data in a group header or footer, but of course that's only the details for the first (header) or last (footer). You can also use Report > Record Sort Expert to put the detail lines in the order you want.

Try doing a few experimental reports, to learn just how Crystal handles such things.

Tony, For specific help you should show a sample of how the data currently displays, and how you would like it to display.

Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions. Madawc, that did the trick for me.
