Suppress Duplicate Field on Report

I'm making a report for a Hospital where it looks for tests that were cancelled or refused due to a problem. Some order codes are "batteries" that can contain up to 50 tests within itself. The report searches for the result looking for [Corrected. This works just fine. I can suppress the Accession number of the sample (it doesn't print 50 times for each of the tests within the battery mentioned above), the Patient ordering location, and the result. However, I can't seem to suppress the field "Result Modifier". It's the same reason for each of the 50 tests in the battery, as to why it was cancelled, but if I say suppress if duplicate, it still prints them out. So if I have 5 batteries that were refused because the tech broke the tube of blood, I get 5 X 50 = 250 hits. I only want to get the 5. The monthly report generates over 20,000 hits and many trees are waisted in printing this out. There must be a way via a formula (?) that can suppress these duplicated results .. the Format Editor, Suppress if Duplicate on the Design, Details page is not working for these instances.

Have you tried Grouping the information, then putting the fields you wish to display in the group header/footer. You can then suppress the detail section.

Here's what it looks like:

Accn # Test Result Result Modifier

H223 WBC Refused -;Tube broke in transit
PLT Refused -;Tube broke in transit
MRC Refused -;Tube broke in transit
This goes on for the remaining 72 tests

H224 TSH Refused -;Cancelled by MD

On the first sample there are 75 tests within that order. So I get the Tube broke in transit 75 times as well. I just want to see the first instance (the WBC Result modifier),
like the second sample. So I can't suppress the whole group, as I need to show the reason why the test was cancelled ... but I only need to see it 1 time for any given component of the order.

Do you want to see 74 detail lines suppressed, or just the description field of "Tube broke in transit".

If you want the first, do as reboo suggested. If you want the last, jusr right click the descriotion field, select format field and click the "suppress if duplicated" checkbox.
