I have simple CR XI report that has 7 columns. If the first 3 columns have the same data, I would like to suppress the data on the subsequent rows and only show the last 4 columns. Originally we had the data in the group headers, which worked fine in the report; however, if we export the report to excel, it doesn't export correctly, the 1st 3 columns export on a separate line.

Is there anyway to just show the data once in the first 3 columns but still have it export to excel on every line or on the first line with the next lines blank?

OK, I removed the group header info that was still in the report and it worked correctly, but is there a way to have the first column print again when the information changes in the 2nd or 3rd column?

Instead of

A B C D E F G
D E F G
B C D E F G

Print:

A B C D E F G
D E F G
A B C D E F G

You could create a formula like this {@abc}:

{table.a}&{table.b}&{table.c}

Then select the three fields->right click->suppress->x+2 and enter:

{@abc} = previous({@abc})

Be sure NOT to check the suppress box. Not sure how this will export though.

Hi,
Use the Previous(fld) function to suppress those fields if the previous field is the same:

For each of the 3 fields use, as a suppression formula:

Previous ({DataBaseField)) = {DataBaseField}

This will suppress when the immediately preceeding values is the same, but not otherwise.
