I have a report that can have multiple line items with the same comments field (and comments) displayed per Job or Order. The comments field is generic for the Job or Order and is displayed for each line item. Where this occurs how can I suppress the repetition of the same comments for each line item, and obviously save a tree occasionally.

TIA
Angus

Right-click on the field, select the 'common' tab
and check 'suppress if duplicated' Howard Hammerman,

CORRECTION! I hit the post button too fast.

Right-click on the field, select Format Field
Then select the 'common' tab
and check 'suppress if duplicated' Howard Hammerman,

Howard's solution works fine if the field in question is placed in the Detail section...if placed in any other section (group header/footer) I would enter the following formula into the conditional suppress for that field

whileprintingrecords;
not previousIsNull({Table.value}) and
previous({Table.value}) = {Table.value}

Guys
Thanks for your prompt responses. It is in the detail section but thanks Jim for your comments as well.
