Using CR XI sp2 on a SQL DB.

Hi all,

The Suppress Blank Subreport doesn't seem to be working properly for me. Does anyone know how it really works? Like what is CR looking for when the box is checked off?

I've got a report with multiple subreports and when there is a blank section, I want that subreport to be suppressed. What CR is doing is that it is just making the subreport blank, and not suppressing the section that it is in. Leaving me with a template of my Main report around blank space.

Something very weird is that for some of the subreports, the 'Suppress Blank Subreports' will actually remove the section that the subreport sits in and sometimes it will just leave a blank page there.

I already played around with every possible combination of 'Suppress Blank Report', 'Suppress Blank Section', checked that my new page before and afters are correct and I still have these blank pages. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If your subreport doesnt have anything in it, not even a text box, it would classify as blank and you can use the subreport options 'format subreport' and 'suppress blank subreport' under the tab 'Subreport'.

Now suppress the section by selection the 'Suppress Blank Section' in the 'Section Expert' in the main report.

Note that if there is text in the subreport it is not blank. You could than suppress the text fields (or other non database fields) depending on if you find any database records in the subreport. This way the subreport will be blank again and the above should work

I think you need to remove the borders around the sub, too.
