Suppress Alert Subscription Notification

For our help desk we are programmatically adding alerts and setting permissions for users and user groups as determined by a certain field within the list item. Is there a way to suppress the initial subscription notice "You have successfully created an alert..."? We don't want that notice going to all the members that should receive an alert when a help desk list item is added. The alert itself is sufficient notification.
