support paq installation problem!

Hi, does anyone know what causes the compaq support paq to fail due to being unable to attach to the target machine. this is a stand-alone machine in a workgroup that works perfectly in every other way, the remote deployment utility of the support paq can even see the computer name if i browse for it, but still says it cant connect. I am logged on as the administrator,

any help would be... helpful, thanks!

Try making a connection to the remote servers IPC share first. From the cmd prompt, enter

net use \\servername\ipc$ /u:Administrator *

It will ask you for the admin password for the remote machine.
